How to Apply

We would normally expect a school to have been doing P4C for three full years before being ready to apply for the Gold Award. The Gold Award can only be applied for by schools who have already achieved the Silver Award.

Please read our Gold Award Evidence Guidelines before completing the Application Form. These documents will be posted here shortly: in the meantime, please email to request copies. Your completed form should then be emailed to . If you are attaching large files, please send via Dropbox.

A member of the SAPERE team, or one of our trainers, will visit your school to assess whether your P4C practice meets the criteria for the Gold Award. We will arrange a mutually convenient date for the visit once we receive your application.

Please send the completed application form and accompanying file of evidence, with the application fee of £300 to the SAPERE office at the address on the form. The application fee can be paid by cheque (made payable to SAPERE), by BACS transfer or card payment. Call the office on 01865 408333 for help with payment options.

Please note that if your school is part of our Going for Gold programme, the fee for the school award is included.

Our School Awards are valid for three years from the date of the Award. After that, we ask that schools apply for the next level of Award or for reaccreditation at the current level.
